..a Friday. ..why!? What about those of us who have a regular 9-to-5 job? T_T
2nd-Aug-2010 09:59 am (UTC)
Awww. And what about those of us who live on the other side of the world? ;)
2nd-Aug-2010 12:57 pm (UTC)
Well sorry about that =/

I've taken a day off at work so I can go XD

I only recently moved into the UK, so it's the first time I ever had the chance too..
2nd-Aug-2010 01:35 pm (UTC)
Glad you'll be able to go! I'm working so won't be able to get to London that day but I've met him before so I can't be too jealous!

Remember to come back with photos and tales XD
2nd-Aug-2010 10:48 pm (UTC)
Haha of course, I'm going to SPAM this community with photos XD

And I'm sorry that you can't come along :( Keep the memories of meeting him, though ;)

LOL, don't mind me. Enjoy it LOTS - for those of us who can't be there!

(I was told something similar, by a friend who can't make it to a concert I'm going to this weekend, so I do know the feeling, from the other end of the envy. Then again, this band I'm seeing were around in the early 1980s, so even the youngest of them is probably older than Mr May... eeek!)

I tell you what, he looks damn good in that jacket photo.
2nd-Aug-2010 04:55 pm (UTC)
Not half as good as your icon.

In fact, I'm a nosey bugger. Not as good as MOST of your icons :D
2nd-Aug-2010 05:07 pm (UTC)
:D I'm so pleased I found those, it took forever to find Malcolm/Capaldi icons and there really should be more of them. :)
2nd-Aug-2010 05:08 pm (UTC)
*g* There really should be more Malcolm...in general XD I've just gone on a PC binge with Children of Earth, Local Hero, next is The Crow Road and Shooting Fish.

Obsessed much...? Still, he's a pleasant distraction!
2nd-Aug-2010 05:15 pm (UTC)
I finally saw Local Hero a few weeks ago and even if I hadn't been mildly obsessed with Peter Capaldi, I have to say I'd still think it's a lovely film.

I don't know what it is, but it's just lovely (and nice to see a reversal of the old "decent but backward townspeople fight against their town been bought out by big nasty foreign company" story, that's so old now).

I've got Shooting Fish and The Crow Road on my Amazon list (I don't have much hard drive space left for downloads), but it's a case of saving up first. :|

Did you see House Of 9 yet?..boy oh boy...
2nd-Aug-2010 05:26 pm (UTC)
*fangirls*

I'd read about Local Hero for so many years I was quite ashamed for not having seen it. Such a gorgeous little film, I really enjoyed it.

I've not seen House of 9 but I'm downloading Neverwhere and Fortysomething at the moment. Is that 'boy oh boy' a good or bad sign? o_O

(Oh, and Children of Earth?)
2nd-Aug-2010 05:40 pm (UTC)
Yes, it is a bad sign...a very bad sign...As another great comedy character once said, "bugger Billy that's bad".

Kelly Brook and an ex-rapper? lordy, lordy!

He does look rather nice in it (and it's well worth a watch if you fancy watching a dancing Malcolm getting busy with the ladies), but I'd never buy it (you can download it from some places though).

Children Of Earth I haven't seen yet, so I've no idea what that's like (I've probably got that on my Amazon list too).
2nd-Aug-2010 05:47 pm (UTC)
Oh crikey, that does sound dodgy - although I've heard the same about Lair of the White Worm (without the dancing). I might have to endure it just because I saw those screencaps over on the_thickofit and YES I'm that open to persuasion.

Thanks for helping me feed my addiction XD

All my previous icons in this topic (excluding the newspaper one) are from House Of 9, hope that helps. :)

I saw Lair Of The White Worm as well (had a Capaldi download blitz a while back) and if possible, that's even worse.
With the exception of him and poor naked Amanda Donohoe, it's some of the worst acting you'll ever see!

But you could tell which actors -which two at least- were likely to go on to better things, despite having the appalling direction of Ken Russell (and just goes to show that good actors aren't enough, you need a good director to take charge or you won't get anything out of them).

There's a link somewhere on the_thethickofit to the episode of Ten Minute Tales he was in, that's quite sweet.

And he was in an episode of The Comic Strip (the last one ever of the "old" ones in fact), and really he's very good in it, in fact based on that I'd love to see him do more comedy in a not-so-Thick-of-It style.
I'm a huge fan of the 'Strip, but hadn't even noticed he was in it until someone pointed it out recently, he manages to carry a whole story himself, despite not been one of the regular cast who people already loved. :)

There's naked showerness in that one as well, if that helps...and stockings.

You can download those two I'm sure (I did, at you know where..................pb), the Comic Strip episode was called Jealousy.
3rd-Aug-2010 07:05 pm (UTC)
You're a star. Thanks for all the info: I've downloaded/watched The Comic Strip - I have good memories of watching them all as a kid - particularly A Fistful of Traveller's Cheques and of course Bad News. *sigh* good times XD

Oh, and the stockings were...well, even though I was warned, I...er...yes :D

You just killed me again with another icon.
4th-Aug-2010 09:40 pm (UTC)
Blood_Skittle's does great Capaldi icons, and in a world so lacking in them they're always welcome, (the one above is particularly naughty-looking...you wouldn't be able to read anything dirty with him looking at you like that without feeling a bit dirty). :)

I'd just come by to let you know I'd just posted a link to my Jealousy upload on the_thethickofit but happily you've already seen it. :)

F*****g gorgeous man that he is. :)

And to think this was supposed to be a James May signing topic, I love how sidetracked this has become it's ridiculous! :D
5th-Aug-2010 12:41 pm (UTC)
...and I've paid it back with a little upload of my own over on the comm. Well, I think it's great that the Peter-love has hijacked my James post - at least it means we have DOUBLY good taste. Now I'm going to get my grabby hands on some filthy hot icons. Yes. Your icon has made me feel dirty *g*

Jesus he's hot, isn't he? Had to get that out of my system. Phew.

ETA: Am downloading House of 9 on the strength of those icons *nods*

Yes I'd love to be the filling in a Capaldi-May sandwich, as would quite a few of us I think. :)

I'm desperately waiting for the next TG Slash group's Fic Prompt, I've got loads of filthy ideas that I need someone with greater writing ability than me to get to work on (which would be anyone other than me to be fair).

Malcolm/May fic is desperately needed, in fact I can't believe that a T.G/Malcolm crossover hasn't been thought of before.
Angry Malcolm getting his angry way with May, it's so obvious!

Or M/Hammond, but not M/Jeremy...that just wouldn't work I reckon, Peter not been very tall he needs the height advantage. :)
8th-Aug-2010 01:37 pm (UTC)
Oooh the prompt post is up, go for it XD I can see Malcolm/Jezza for some reason, but I can't see him with May. *sigh*
I'm working on some Malc fic of my own, but no TG boys in sight I'm afraid.

The sandwich idea is sitting very well with me, however *g*

It's a T.G series 15 prompt, so I might be going off at a tangent trying to get them to go all slashy right now.
I'll have to wait I guess. :(

Good to hear you've got some fic coming up, looking forward to it.
